C has done most of the child care and household management during our chaotic week. Tonight she got to see Geneva for the first time to see what all the fuss was about.

Baby

  • No one will commit to a date when she can come home. It’s worse than asking a financial planner if the stock market will go up tomorrow. One can only imagine a large pile of disappointed, crying, screaming parents on the side of that well-worn path.
  • Eating better since on the new formula and now gets some Mommy milk mixed in.
  • Cardiologist thinks heart murmur will heal itself with time.

Mommy

  • Got to meet a smorgasbord of medical personnel at grand rounds
  • Getting used to the “Lazarus” nickname
  • Seems perkier every day, but still resisting the urge to break dance, hula hoop, or mud wrestle

Boys

  • BK: saw Geneva today and reported, “She is soft.”
  • TJ: talks about the baby as if she is merely a digital photo, like an avatar in Webkinz World.
  • Sp: seems to have forgotten all about everything except himself

Daddy

  • The oven might not be working…it’s not very hot
  • The tires seem to be flat every few days. Hmmm.
  • Hears that girls can get expensive
  • Bracing for the medical bills to arrive, dreams of dropping them off in a neighbor’s mailbox and running away
